California powerhouse architecture and planning firm KTGY Group, Inc., has merged with Glen Ellyn-based PPK Architects. The combined company also announced plans to open an office in Chicago at 343 W. Erie Street.
PPK has been around for 65 years, designing commercial and residential projects throughout the Midwest. KTGY has a management philosophy emphasizing collaboration, with partners and principals sharing ideas toward completion of projects.
KTGY also makes use of specialized studios spread out through the U.S., with professional staff in those locations working on projects in their geographic region.
The merged company’s Chicago location will be led by Craig R. Pryde, AIA, LEEP AP, and David M. Kennedy, AIA, LEED AP. The Pryde-Kennedy team has developed a number of local projects including a transit-oriented development in New Lenox known as Lincoln Station, and Vertical Endeavors, a 40,000-square foot indoor climbing gym in Glendale Heights.
The new, combined company will work on architecture and planning services for single-family, multi-family, civic, recreation, commercial office and retail, financial, medical, healthcare, hotels, hospitality, mixed-use and international markets.
