Dave Cheeson's Blog: With 1345 South Wabash Complete, 1333 Shifts Into High Gear

Now that CMK Companies‘ 1345 South Wabash tower is ready to accept residents, workers are earnestly changing the landscape next door at 1333 South Wabash for the accompanying tower. The Brininstool+Lynch design is being fitted into a hole intended for a previously-endeavored development that never got out of the ground.

When complete, the 28-story tower will rise 276 feet into the South Loop sky. But wait, there’s more.

There will be no curb cuts on Wabash Street. All loading and vehicular access will be through the alley running parallel to South Michigan and South Wabash Avenues.
3,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.
100% green roof on the tower.
Common area on the podium roof, with a dog run.
The glass podium of the facade will be backlit at night so the building casts a soft glow onto Wabash Avenue.
65% of the apartments will have one bedroom and be about 700 square feet with rents around $1,750.
30% of the apartments will have two bedrooms and be about 1,200 square feet with rents around $2,300.
5% of the apartments will have three bedrooms.
The building is expected to take 18 months to build.
No public parking is planned.
