Coming Soon to a Loop Near You: 130 North Franklin

Late last week the Chicago Plan Commission gave its nod to the construction of 130 North Franklin, the faceted, fascinating, Krueck+Sexton office tower that is going to put yet another surface parking lot out of our misery.

As described on the K&S web site, it’s the first Chicago project by New York developer Tishman Speyer since the economy ate itself in 2008.

The exact height of this skyscraper has been something of a moving target, with the numbers changing with each city filing.  The Plan Commission approved 53 stories, which is an increase of two stories from the last number we had, and five from earlier reports.

And as if they knew we’d be coming, Krueck + Sexton has new renderings of the building that make it look even better than the last few sets.  Click each image to embiggen. Totally worth it.
